Greetings,

I come to the community with a simple request & QoL change , for JMods/Devs and ask them to review an implemented change in 2019, then consider the below points to improve upon it.

I must add my voice to the chorus of worried players facing the prospect of planning copious amounts of time to grind towards decades old content. This is by no means a ploy to expand on recent HP hysterics or excuse demands for unreasonable game changes, but this might be one worthwhile of our attention.

As the subject refers to is a need to further optimize the NPC Contact spell and add Wythien as a contact .

Per the 2019 patch notes (not discounting the 2016 -50% discount on current produce points), enhancers were shifted away to save a modestly invaluable "16 bank slots".

How should Wythien, among many other practical characters be more useful in the capacity and the service he provides now? It is simple: in his current form he is a bonified Diango without the QoL perks we have come to appreciate from the bank interface.

Why isn't Wythien in the NPC Contacts when using an item in his storage?

Well, as any fledgling Completionist should do is ignore the hit to their motivation and their love of gaming will have after beginning Livid Farm . I might have begun a helluva lot sooner were I aware the sunk time cost to plan how to obtain its essential rewards, namely the farming tele's and the team assisting/PVM spells .

From the Livid Farm strategies it should be a simple calculation to plan out the time spent in the activity where we are expected to juggle available alternatives and accumulate points over a medium length of time. (PLEASE CONTINUE READING)

This can take the form of taking upwards of 30 hours of gameplay @ 18k points/hr or world hopping, waiting for the Traveling Merchant to sell the Livid Plant, or hope that Pauline Polaris will appear at the Manor Farm.

Alas, it is my fault for brainstorming a unique strategy to see if I can make the most of my time at the Livid Farm and use the point enhancer with its 250 enhancer charges...without CONSTANTLY world hopping. That is to use the Attuned crystal teleport seed to Meilyr, run north to Wythien and toggle off the enhancer until the next round that I can use the String Jewellery spell.

Even then, anybody would believe this is an egregious number of steps to ramp up produce points. That is precisely the reason I decided to write up this post.

Despite this, if I base how many times I can toggle the enhancer to my gain with just the String Jewellery spell on the livid plants and depositing the bundle, that might be upwards of 500 teleports to toggle on then off the enhancer at Wythien. If that was not the worse part, Wythien incorrectly displays 2x points when the enhancer is active...but in practice we get 1.5x (50%).

So again, as a player I do not earn what is advertised.

Hopefully, we are all capable of seeing where I am going with this: before beginning this activity in earnest it already is an energy sap .

A quick search confirms my suspicions, and I see the average player does not play more than 2hr/day, or less than 6 a week. If I also calculate how long it would take to unlock everything in Livid Farm, it still will take the better part of the month and likely longer if I do not have a mental breakdown how repetitive the activity is! This is inefficient where a “distraction” as this one would merit a revamp of sorts. (CONTINUE)

I am basing my opinions by how well informed by the online RS3 community is on the topic of balancing this game. Considering the recent controversy regarding HP, it could be easy to agree with all the accumulated frustrations everyone is expressing.

Also, it could be easy to predict ANY improvements adjacent to this topic by means of correcting how we interact with the game WOULD rekindle the joy in the game and faith the player base expects towards the Jagex team.

The above stated remarks about the theme to balance our time would go a long way to improve our collective mental health and reduce load on the game servers from world hopping and discourage bot use.

Finally, I am aware of the irony of setting aside the time that it took to type this text. I would be closer to having completed Livid Farm, where I would have spent 4-5hrs out of the 30 by now. Instead, my priorities are to signal my disagreement with how we are forced to play and shell out membership and time without serious reconsideration how to unlock time gated content.

I hope this topic gives others the motivation to breath some needed life into subjects that clearly are not being discussed. As of now there is no info in Dev blogs, Future Updates or any recent accessible behind the scenes information to address Livid Farm specifically.

So why not add Wythien as a contact? This will create an added use benefit to the Lunar NPC Contact spell...since we are using an item that benefits an activity on... Lunar Isle!

There are added benefits to linking to Wythien for other enhancers which I did not expand on. Hopefully Devs would consider that, too.
