My suggestion is that Summoning points aren't as significant as they could be. Often times if not always, people will take a dose of a summoning or other restorative potion and then summon the familiar. Summoning points could and should be more meaningful. And then how many summoning points you have left would make more of a difference. You should be penalized for having too few and rewarded for having more than enough. Perhaps if you only have enough to summon the familiar, but not to sustain it, it is summoned for a shorter period of time, and if you have more than enough it adds length to the summoning time. So people are sure to have more than enough Summoning points than to summon the familiars, which is actually penalized to have more summoning points because you drain through points you otherwise wouldn't have to use. So having more Summoning points should be rewarded and having less summoning points should be penalized. Which is the opposite of the way it is right now.
