I was honestly skeptical at first about why in the world they would release RS3 on steam. Seemed kinda strange to me, but I've been noticing the massive recent uptick in players, and it seems clear that it was a great idea now.
Been a long time since I've seen just normal days with 50k or more players on RS3.
And we're topping the MMO charts on steam as well!
Great job Jagex
I don't use the steam client myself, but I'm glad it's been successful at bringing in new players. When mobile is released for iOS devices, that might help too. I hope the growth will continue.

Does the Steam max pack (membership) work for osrs?
Yes. If you have a membership in one game, you have membership on both.
However, you won't get the same benefits in OSRS that you'd get in RS3 for purchasing the RS3 max pack, just the membership.
If you're only looking for a membership at the cheapest rate for one year, I'd purchase the new Gold Premier Club Membership package.
It gets you the same 1 year but for $74.99. Same as the others, I believe the only perk it gives for OSRS is that you get membership for $74.99 for one year, but there are still additional perks for RS3 if you decide to play it.
