Thank you so much for the Golden Phat event! I've been a very good boy this year and this is one of the best if not the BEST decision you have ever made for the longevity of the game and the best event I will probably ever experience. This definitely helps to devalue all the other colored partyhats and bring an end to all the toxic staking and real-world trading I think that is likely involved with the nature of rares. Gold is the ultimate color in every video game for any weapons, armor, etc. and definitely befitting of a 20-year celebration event.
I will surely enjoy this event and definitely because of it, I've decided I will be playing Runescape for many more years to come, or maybe forever! I can't wait to work towards a trimmed comp cape to match my gold phat
Also, this helps alot to boost everyone's spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic and not forget the spirit of Christmas.
Cheers,
Eng1neerd
P.S. Please make more colored partyhats in the future too like Black and Cyan to complete the CKMY scheme. It would also be fun if you can make a blank canvas Phat that we can dye with the existing 3rd age dye etc. Golden santa hats and masks are also a suggestion too.
I can't imagine the current prices of the originals falling too drastically; yet-yes, the release of the Golden Phat offers many more to enter the Discontinued Items market similar to how the Black Santa Hat had. Exciting news, indeed

I agree, when I first saw this on the front page I said out loud wtf, but after reading the newspost it really is the best way to introduce new discontinued rares. Black santa was too rare, and future discontinued rares added should be like the gold phat as well.

To me it kinda makes it obvious that jagex know the rare market keeps the company alive so in their best interests "as a company" they must cater to those who rely on money to see this as a game.
