I think one of the most simple, yet wonderful features of Runescape is examining things.

I've been playing for nearly 12 years now, and it has always been one of my favorite parts of Runescape. It may seem so simple, but I really love the work that went into giving so many things fun examine text.

It's such a nice touch and I genuinely find myself reading the flavor text of all the random little things in the world as I walk through it.

It makes me feel more apart of the game world, and I catch little details and references, like the ammonite crabs "Praise Helix!" text ;)

Even fires' text of "Hot!" is so funny, and wholesome to me, and just feels "very Runescape".

If there's anyone still on the Jagex team from all those years ago, thank you for such a simple, yet amazing feature. To the Jagex team today, thank you for keeping it up and coming up with new examine text for an old fart adventurer like me to enjoy :)

Agreed. It really is an underrated part of the game. One of the reasons I absolutely adore Menaphos as a city is that you can't throw a stone without hitting at least half a dozen pieces of scenery that have witty examine texts. Makes the game world feel more alive.

I'd even go as far as saying that one of the first things I do whenever I explore a new piece of content is to right-click anything that looks like it might have interesting examine text.

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one still doing this, nowadays :P . I'd go as far as to say that RuneScape was one of the first pioneers for MMORPGS to incorporate this and stick with it.

Thanks for the post! I agree! Its fun to examine all of the random things in the world and find the flavor texts Jagex has left for us. I have found some really funny and clever ones! Love this little easter egg in the game! Mankind should be our business Ebenezer Scrooge, but we seldom attend to it

I agree. The seemingly minor details bring life to the game and make it interesting and fun. I've played other games, gotten bored and quit, but never Runescape. I've had to take breaks for various reasons, but always came back.

Examine butterfly "i love butterflies" erm, maybe I don't actually..... :)
