Hi RuneScapers,
Throughout years of playing RuneScape, I’ve always thought that the report abuse button was useless. One would find some sort of bug or someone abusing of them or being offensive in another way, and Jagex would just ignore it. Inclusively, I’ve sent ranting threads complaining about how useless that button was. I could never disagree with those people.
I lost faith and stopped using that button (except for when people tried to luring/scamming me by impersonating Jagex staff, inviting to be Pmod... well, y’all know what I’m talking about). Somehow, I always believed that reporting those accounts would make Jagex banning those accounts. Regarding, everything else, I never believed Jagex would sort anything really.
Last week, Raksha was released. And on last week’s update, there were a few issues that I witnessed, such as, getting stuck o in middle of arena in p4 of Raksha encounter (during or at the end of it) or not being able to change hot colour. For the first time in many years, I reported those issues. And today I realised I was wrong. I was wrong about reporting abuse button being useless. It is not. It is there for something. And I’m glad I was wrong.
I am not saying that Jagex heard me about my game-playing issues, but I realised that helped reporting a problem, such as many others, and that made Jagex team do something about it. Jagex probably receives tons of bugs reports every week (or even every day), especially when there’s major updates. I do believe now they do their best to fix those issues. Don’t ignore that button, help to contribute because you may not be the only one experiencing bugs and glitches. Report and Jagex will read it and do something about it.
I was so happy about it that I really wanted to share this, apologise for thinking the other way around. So thank you Jagex team for making our game better.
