The mini-quest is a cute story, the cities look beautiful and festive and the skilling areas are a nice, finishing touch. Great job this year, Jagex! Myself and my community love it <3 - (Owner) Ornery Onions -

It brings a tear to my eye! I honestly believed Jagex to NEVER have a true Holiday event ever again and just stick to the MTX and afk skilling and call it an event. This event feels like how it felt back in the old days! Yes there is MTX but honestly, I don't care because the quest is what I've been begging them for, for ages. This is how it is done! Bravo Jagex. Please please please do more events like this. Bring back Maggie from 2008 and make a story with her. They don't need to be long, they never were but just make them. That's all I ask! Oh man you have no idea how happy this made me!

Also, my LORD the cities look amazing and make me wanna play more. You truly brought back the Christmas spirit in Runescape for me. It's a shame though that a small quest like this would make me so happy because of how long it has been since a good event was in game. Please let this be the norm, not the exception!

Check it out!

In the words of Jack Sparrow...

" You need to find yourself a girl mate"

jking, had to say it, lol. Seriously though, I agree with you 1000%. This is how it is done. It like how those of us who say the best time of our lives were in the 90's. Same with RS. RS was amazing pre 2008. Since then, Jagex, like the world seems to have bent over and catered to the whinning little ones of this new era. Not saying they are all like that, but I think the statistics prove themselves.
We definately can not get the 90's back, and RS will never be like it was pre 2008. If you were there, you just know... But for all the newer players who do not have a 20year cape, this is how it is done... From the quest, to the village, placement, decorations, activities, and countless extras. Jagex did a very fine job this year and we all enjoy it. Life goes on and I do not have the luxury of time to play as I did in 03, but still drop in here and there to see how things are moving along.
Cheers to you all and have a safe and fun holiday season...

I keep hoping we'll get another Violet quest one Christmas.
I've never enjoyed a quest so much. :)

This year's is nice though, if a little short.

I love it. Finally a feeling like the old days. The decorations at Fort, Falador, Varrock and Lumbridge look fantastic. The Village events are typical AFK grinds, but that's okay. Back in the day, after you did the event, you were done. Now, you can at least hang around if you like. Too bad I'm an old folk and had all of the shop rewards already, except for the 2 new ones.

For sure :P ! It's still nice to interact with some newer players within the area, atleast.

I am happy that Jagex created a novel Christmas event, compared to the ones in previous years. Having played for a while, I had most of the rewards. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to obtain the 2014 Christmas items, because I had an extended stay in ICU and a hospital ward at the time.
