This has been a long time in the making, but due to various things happening in life including me dropping off from the game it has been forgotten about - until this moment. I really hope this story is ok for me to share as I really want to convey my gratitude to the OSRS team.
Without going into too much detail, in 2016 I had a significant decline in my health which seriously affected my life. Essentially, I became unable to do anything for 3 years. Imagine the covid lockdowns but lasting years rather than months. I decided to revisit RuneScape to see what was happening, since I had largely forgotten about it and was desperate for something to distract me from the suffering I was going through in the real world.
OSRS ended up being exactly what I needed. It was engaging enough for me to fixate on whilst also not being taxing to play control wise (very important for me at the time), not to mention with a brilliant dev team stearing it, adding great content that I really enjoyed watching if not playing myself (raids, inferno, various quests, new lands etc.). Honestly, I don't know how I would of stayed sane if the game didn't exist. The fact it was there and had so much for me to do seriously helped me get through this very rough period of my life.
So my most sincerest thanks to the OSRS team for all the work they have done - especially those who were around during that period of time (2016-2019), I always felt you had the players' best interest at heart and that it shown in the work you produced. Thank you so much for all you have done!
