So after coming back from 9 year hiatus, I did tons of research and found that the Noxious bow is considered the "best" bow in the game. Whereas the Ascension and Blightbound are the best crossbows.

My questions are:

Why is the damage on the Noxious longbow lower than Crystal and Decimation bow? Do the araxyte arrows make up the gap in damage?

Why are the Ascension and Blightbound crossbows damages not listed? Is it purely dependent on bolt damage?? So like a bolt with 902 damage would cause the crossbow to have 902 damage.

Seren godbow is better than nox bow.

Crystal bow, decimation and seren godbow all have their own ammunition which is which included in the weapons damage stat.

Nox requires ammunition to use which is added to the weapons damage stat, so the nox bow + the damage of the arrow is the final damage rating.

Blightbounds are the best because it has a special effect that gives a 25% chance to save bakriminel bolts. Combined with the off-hand blightbound crossbow, there will be a 50% chance in total.

Eldritch crossbow is the range weapon when comparing all, and it's a 2 handed crossbow.

yeah and factor speed! like the drygore mace isnt really less damage than the longsword cause its a tick faster.

even moreso I like my lv 20 scav 4 decimation way better than I will ever like not-eof seren godbow cause its faster, and Im used to that speed for combos. I played with it so long I can feel it. I aint sayin I expect a team would let me bring it... its what I use for slay tasks or whatever. solo stuff. decimation real good for that.

I love my lv 20 eldritch cause that spec + eof ammy is soooo good. Thats what I bring for challenging my best times on reaper tasks, or to team pursuits.

My kalphite offhand has been level 20 forever cause I used with ascension mh before blights came out. My mh blight is today only just lv 17 cause... I have eldritch and Im happy to forfeit the catalytic effect for the dps increase. When I do clues I have offhand nex one with venomblood and glow worm and thats more item xp than my mainhand blight iirc.

Its also worth keepin in yer range tab an augmented strykebow, an augmented sunspear javelin, an attuned crystal bow if you ever have to do shapeshifters, elite death lotus darts, and some mechanized chinchompas.

I gotta admit I aint ever shot the blackstone arrows, but I hear theyre real good for increasin yer kill speeds if yer locked into seren godbow, but it aint as much as eldritch, so I just aint tried it with anything yet... maybe someday with hexhunter?

oh yeah and if you been gone 9 years read about the tool belt cause you can make a mithril cbow grappling hook thingy and then unbank that rune cbow you had forever

one more thing. if yer 9 years back... dont be too quick to sell your seercull, saradomin godbow, rune throwing axes, etc. hang on to them and try them on yer EOF range necklace til you see which you wanna use most often. if you take aim at snapping a seren to necklace right away there will be some things you miss out on.

also... the higher up you get... man. I wish I could be on a diet how many noxious components I use. I have Biting 4 Venomblood on all six of my dps sets. So by no means are you wasting any time leveling a nox to l evel 20 level 9, and you dont have to worry itd crash. We eat those, so the supply and demand is pretty stable. People do em for reaper tasks. High levels xp capacitate them and dissassemble.

oh yeah and... take note the lv 75 tank range gear is cursed. if augmented you always lose it in wildy (also karils). thats not what its for. its a weird weird weird way to get resilient components for that one cheap codex.

so you do need a deep stack of royal sets, and places in mind for elite sirenic, achto tempest, pernix, and... um... okay I have lucky armadyl, but you might maybe want unaugmented zamorak anima core t80 in that slot. I cant imagine ranging without perks like... ever, but maybe you want to.
