I am conflicted on this hat. Personally, I think it looks nice but it's speculated that the exact same hat will return this Christmas, reportedly?

Is it worth still picking one up at it's current price?

jagex have not definitively stated that it's discontinued. so it's return is definitely possible but also not guaranteed.

whether that be every 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, if at all, is anyone's guess. only you can decide whether its worth picking up at whatever price, as it's relative to your total wealth, willingness to accept risk / possible reward. pay what you feel its worth.

What jagex have said at the time of its release is that they do have plans for it to return.

Like you stated though, the time frame of which is indeed unknown.

So at the time of this post, it is "discontinued" as new ones arent entering the game anymore.

I’ve got quite a few of these in my bank.
I have a figure in my mind which I will be offloading them for by Xmas 2022 if they reach that price.
If not then I will take the gamble and carry them on me into Xmas 2022.
If no re-release “some confidence” will be restored in them and should rise more.
Regardless I’ll be off loading them at some stage as the way Jagex worded it that they will return but not sure when or how often in the future. (Jagex are also known for not matching their actions with their words).
I don’t think buying now can be a loss even if re-release Xmas 2022 as GSH still has some growing to do this year leading up to Xmas 2022.
But it’s a fact that holding onto them into Xmas 2022 is a gamble, could lose money, could make money.

Is it worth still picking one up at it's current price? Just unknown. It's kinda like beach tokens. If they don't return, bank made. If they do return, some could crash very low.

And I guess zombie token is the same, but zombie seems likely to return, just my understanding (could be wrong.) I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

Could get just 1 and hold whether or not it gets rereleased. That way you only lost on 1 and not a big investment. Be warned that it doesn't necessarily needs to dropped by the 2022 christmas event and could come earlier in another promo before december.
