Because it is a treasure hunter item. The way Jagex has been re releasing th items nobody has confidence that any th won't be re released again. That's why green Santa hasn't increased in value like one would think it would. Judging by the ge trend I'd say the Pween was getting merched and is now being dumped.

I personally know 2 people where both were able to get at least 9 Pweens and one of those 2 got 10. The one with 10 got 6 with 400 keys and then a 4X pween drop with 1 of their daily oddments worth of keys they could get.

They are far to common that's why, according to my estimations there is approx 23k Purple H'ween masks in circulation, most active players already own one and therefore do not need another so there is less trade among them.

just because you either
a. couldn't afford to buy more than 1
or
b. didn't buy because they were crashing and couldn't get more before they went back up

doesn't mean you're not hungry for cash, sry you can't fool anyone.
Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

Because Jagex has had a policy on Rare items for over a decade now. When a new rare is introduced, they plainly state that it is a discontinued rare. If they did not state this at or around the release of an item, then you can fairly confidently estimate that the item will be rereleased. Items such as these that hold 0 function and are guaranteed to increase in market volume are not strong investment magnets. The only way for these items to see some sort of major return on investment is if the demand for the item somehow outpaces the rate at which they are added to the game. I don't see this as very likely with any of these new unlimited holiday items, and this one is no exception. Now with added

Price was high because of hype, hype wears off, demand plummets, price falls. And these hats were actually extremely common in treasure hunter.

It is going to go much lower. I got 1 green santa in last year's christmas event spending around the same amount of keys that got me over 12 purple hweens in the halloween treasure hunter. And green santa went to 500m. So this hat could go to under 100m easily.

If 2 purple hats are an "investment" you probably should not be investing. Spend that money on literally anything else that will help you make money now. Even if jagex magically announced tomorrow that purple hweens are discontinued, it would be like 3-5 years before they even raised in price above what they currently cost.

Because it is worthless to collectors as it's not real rare, it's not discontinued item.
Not everyone got it during promotion but they were somewhat common and a LOT of people got more than one for example.

Well the Green santa isn't in this year's event although they did add a costume to match it, so there's a bit of precedent now that they won't spam these headgear items every season

Of course they won't as price isn't really big for them to profit on. I think they will follow the same or similar route as walk tokens.

Yes I agree. Though I am more interested in long-term return on items, rather than small, short term turnover. I see no long-term profit to be found in these newer generation rare reskins. I anticipate them to rerelease every 2-3 years, during which they will crash every time, and are highly unlikely to fully recover from each before the next.
