Hey guys,
after careful consideration I haven't found a specific post about the seasons outfits and a couple of questions that some might find interesting before investing in it.
I was researching about crown of seasons in particular before investing and came to the conclusion that season outfits are often classified as "rare items" that were acquired through the sof/treasure hunter game through a limited time period.
Wiki pages, reddit and word-to-mouth says that these items are discontinued rares. However, in the news post from 28 June 2013 that I found in the archive they are labelled as
"[...] rare piece of headwear [...] available for a limited time, and tradeable both player-to-player and on the Grand Exchange!"
It further states that it
"[...] is up for grabs on the Squeal of Fortune from Friday 28th June 2013 00:00 GMT until Monday 8th July 23:59 GMT. After then, you’ll have until Monday July 22nd, when coronet components will be removed from game."
Looking at what happened with gem items I am questioning the status of crown of seasons as a real discontinued rare item. Obviously, "rare" or "rare items" does no longer imply that they are solely out of game, but rather obtainable by luck or only during certain times or under certain circumstances.
My question is therefore, are the season outfits, in particular the crown of seasons, a real discontinued rare (such as phats, hmasks, santas)? Has Jagex ever mentioned in specific if they would return them - can you name any sources that could provide thei official stance on this? Please do not quote the wiki pages or forum discussions - I know that people have strong opinions about sof or rares in general and I've read a lot of the posts and websites already. I am just interested in how likely they will be rereleased or if they are officially confirmed to be discontinued (note: rare does not mean discontinued necessarily).
Thank you, and I hope some of you know a bit more about this.
Thank you.
