What an interesting thread.
I got all my rares by Fletching to 99 and beyond. Took around a year of fletching and high lvl alching bows Yew longs and Magic shorts.
2004/2005 was a great time for Me and rares lol.
I got full P-Hat set, 2 Disks, 2 Easters, 2 Santas 2 Pumpkins, 1 half wine and 2 mask sets all for 100m gp and change. In them days they were cheap. VERY cheap as in a mask set for 2-3m. Half wine for 4m. Pumpkins for 2-3m each. Santas 100k+ gp. The good old days.
I'm so happy I got my collection back in the days as today I don't think I'd save enough cash for many items today even though I have a growing collection. Safe and Secure too.

Before Eoc came into play me and my summon tank clan used to pk/bh for gp mostly. Then after finding out duel made alot more a few of us converted over to staking as it trumped the income of pvp. After being able to save enough for a blue at 3.55b bought from I harv I i felt completed. Boom got hacked right before the eoc update on the 4th of july for a blue, white, and purple lol. Was determined to get said phats back.
Eoc update hits and wrecked all pure/tank builds. Wiped out pvp for low levels mostly and was the meteor that took out the dinosaurs of the summoning tank clan I was in. Duel arena was no longer an option. Never knew how to properly flip or anything like that. So then last year i think or the year before i figured i'd learn to become a merch/flipper.
Started flipping santa hats for 100-300m profit each and got somewhat blamed for making santas go from 3b to 6b in about a month by posting my buys/sells on forums. Then got into flipping black santas hopping between w2/w54 trading between merchers and stakers making decent profit between flips. Finally managed to get my first yellow for a black santa and 30b cash (priced at like 80-84b at the time) and been upgrading since.

I used to have rares when the duel arena was around but lost them all staking.
After the arena was removed i went to start using my Nox dyed weapons to make money
I got FSOA Elite tectonic with EOF and my red we'en all from killing nodons.
Then i got a green we'en from selling all of my FSW lv 99 capes and QPC
Right now i am working on Zamorak to try and get a bow parts, to work towards getting a blue we'en.
