What does the pyro-matic do?

You're asking too many questions at once, but the pyro-matic is the same as a regular tinderbox for the most part.
The pyro can hold perks, which are useful, and it can be drained for invention xp.
Crystal tinderbox is better: "The tinderbox gives quintuple the chance of spawning a fire spirit while at a bonfire with it equipped in main hand slot."
Good firemaking perks:
Pyromaniac (chance to burn all logs in inventory at once). It does go off, sometimes.
Rapid (chance to speed up burning action).
Enlightened: +3% item XP per rank (for the item it's installed on). (max is 12%)
Wise: While equipped, +1% per rank additional experience, up to 50,000 XP per day.
Prosper: Allows you to find clue scrolls whilst skilling and a 1% chance for elite clues found this way to be upgraded to master. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

Tinker perk: While firemaking, it has a 5% chance per rank per action to increase the experience gained from that action by 25%.
