Yesterday we got another promo with these diamond items...

Is it just me or is everyone else also getting tired of these endless promo items?

Like, seriously, who cares? Miss the train? Next one will come in a few months (or sooner).

When adjectives like "rare", "limited edition", etc. get used every time, it kinda loses its meaning. If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

Agreed.

All these revenue-raising promos are being introduced with little to no consideration about how players will actually integrate them.

Just because something is "new" doesn't mean people will value its addition to the game, at least in time.

It seems the only promos people seek are endgame content, stuff that people can feel extremely excited about getting, or working hard and passionately towards achieving.

All these promos are doing is adding more pointless junk because they have no perceived value due to their prevalence.

However, it really increased player activity. Had given lower level players items to flip and make some GP for items that they may have been saving for, which in turn creates more interest to play and retain player base.
I myself made 350m passively off 7m flips during the first 12 hours of the event.
Today margins are closing and yes I think these items (maybe not the walk) will turn into junk.
Just use GWS and Frosted Wreath for example.
But tbh I don’t mind these events as it adds a little bit of spark to the game and gets the GE firing.

I didn’t even know we had a new promo. Might Sea King sell one of those crackers to buy out the new token with? (I’m kidding) I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

I feel promo fatigue was felt a while back when tokens were introduced instead as as way for jagex to attempt to keep these TH promos valuable long term. Ultimately they failed as we have a billion different tokens, with jagex rereleasing the promos more to make them available to the common player rather than just hoarded. I feel in the end jagex needs to tweak them so they are obtainable from a massive key purchase and constantly rerelease the same promo, rather than constant new promos. Perhaps they could sacrifice all the junk items to this same promo, or make it so junk items are used to get the desirable item. It would create actual demand for cosmetic tokens which are already saturated in the market. Mass contributor to deaths coffers.

they actually changed that awhile back, so it's not as bad as it used to be.

- far back ago when oddments were released the coin option was replaced with oddments.
- when they did the massive th update changes they took out the 200m cash and replaced it with 50m.
- back in 2019 of the Crystal Capsules th promo up untill either 2020 or 2021 you used to be able to get 5/10/25/50/100m gp cash prizes, but those were removed.


- for this new promo you have to use 4/10/25 keys to even have a chance at getting a gp cash prize. Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

Those are all positive things but I was mostly thinking with regards to the fact that every account starts at 3/4 keys "spent" towards their first reward and every account also gets a free key each day so upon simply logging in there is already a 250k cash reward going to a large number of accounts immediately.

Not to mention that they have just given away 35 (or 30? one or the other) free keys as part of their twitch prime promo. So yes you do have to use a fair bit of keys to have a chance at a cash prize but they also gave a sufficient number of keys away to do that.

I would think there'd be more sensitivity to the idea of TH printing GP like this after all the fiascos that have occurred in the recent past.

A bond took 4 years to double from ~12m in 2017 to ~24m this present time last year. Now it is 48m (and has reached almost 60m at one point in the interim.)

Haha,

I don't give a Sh*t what they do as long as they keep the discontinued items discontinued and the game up and running. If idiots want to buy all that trash with keys on the promo or GP in the game, let them waste their money on the trash.

Doesn't bother me any if people waste their money on that junk.
