Hello I want to address something that has been Vague and unclear for several years with discontinued items I am going to list alot of items that have been discontinued for 5 years or longer and will update list if I miss something. This thread is about getting a Jmod to post in discontinued item trading forums on which of these items are discontinued or not. Edit: I am still updating the list this will take some time.

1. Partyhats: Blue partyhat, white partyhat red partyhat purple partyhat green partyhat yellow partyhat

2. Hween masks: red hween mask, blue hween mask, green hween mask

3. Santa hats: santa hat, Black santa hat

4. Misc: Christmas cracker, easter egg disk half wine pumpkin

5: Seasons: Crown of seasons, cloak of seasons, chest of seasons, bottoms of seasons, gloves of seasons, boots of seasons

6. Headslot items: Christmas tree hat, Holly wreath, fish mask

7: weapon slot items: Christmas scythe

I believe I covered all of them.

I wanted to make this thread because some players claim these items are permanently discontinued and will never be rereleased. To ensure transparancy on this there should be a Jmod posting on the discontinued item trading forums of all confirmed discontinued items. This I believe would clear up the speculation of what items are discontinued and what items are not.

List of discontinued items there by an fmod. Perhaps it isn’t 100% certain, but I believe it’s the best we have currently.

There have been different statements by Jagex over the years, but maybe Jagex changes its mind one day.
I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

Crab hat also apparently.

If officially discontinued, these are the items which people should be investing in.
Not tokens. This doesn’t mean there is no money to be made in tokens with short term flips, but hoarding tokens will only get you burnt.
Hoarding the above items will inevitably make you money as a long term investment.

Here would be your jmod answer for you because one will never post about this topic:

Phats, hweens, Santa hat, Christmas cracker, half wine of jug, disk of returning, easter egg, pumpkin.

Everything else isn't discontinued and can be rerelease at any point in time.

Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

Found this quote in an interview with Mark Ogilvie aka Creative Director at Jagex by Googling around:

----------------------

“As a game designer,” Ogilvie says, “you want your most valuable objects to be the ones you designed to be the most valuable object. You want it to be the most powerful sword or a super rare cosmetic in a treasure trail that has an incredibly low drop rate. But, we’re Runescape designers, which is something completely different. So you can apply that logic, but what players do with it once it’s out in the wild? That’s not in your control anymore, and we love that.”

Frustrating from a design perspective? “Yes, kind of,” Ogilvie admits, “But from a Runescape perspective it is absolutely 100% bang on.”

---------------------

Take from that what you will. Sounds like they accept rares for what they are. No word on guarantees for the future of course.
