With all the high-tier skilling tools in the game now, it would be nice to have something better than an augmented crystal hatchet for Woodcutting. Mining and archaeology already have high-tier options. Would be nice to see a hero option for a woodcutting axe too (i.e. Wilfred).

See this is exactly what I'm thinking.
When it comes to mining, every rock we mine is dead(in the case of lrc creatures we kill them first
). The artifacts, materials and other objects we dig up in archaeology are inanimate objects.
But trees? Those are living. They are a part of nature man. The t90 or t99 hatchet isn't going to be some peaceful hippie item. It's gonna be one of these.
So I can feel cool wielding a hatchet for combat again and be quasi good with it too. Chainsaws are a really cool idea. U can do a quest for Doric and he lets u learn to make new metal chains for the saw. The saw is like a standalone item and u upgrade to a adamant chain that u can smith to rune, to drakolith to necronium to bane to elder rune u get plans to make better harder chains that u don’t need to sharpen as much or as often as lower tier metal chainsaw blades

I want thisssss
And chainsaw too
We actually have a chainsaw: The Dwarven Chainaxe that you get from Treasure Hunter and those Dwarven toolsets (along with the Fish Extractor that works like the Fishing-Rod-o-matic and the Dwarven Ramhammer which is jackhammer)
Though knowing Jagex ... if you
really
wanted a "chainsaw" ... they'll just allow you to attach a common construction saw onto the end of a chain (like the Mithril Chain you use to make the Ivandis Flail). So you now have a literal "chainsaw" to go along with the toy Dragon Plate and Dragon Kite
