This was my prediction like an hour ago on another thread:

"I think the new skill is either Necromancy or Shapeshifting (Or a mix of both! See point 5) and here are the reasons why I think that is :

1) Jagex is pushing players heavily towards combat. (e.g.: lowering death costs, making combat easier with OP weapons, buffing existing weapons like dragon specs, OP armors that make combat afk, new spells that make those OP armors make combat seem like a joke, etc.)

2) On that note, making combat easier and more afkable, let's not forget that mobile is a big part of RS now, which is probably why everything needs to be less hands on so players can actually enjoy the mobile experience and not just for afk skilling.

3) Necromancy/Shapeshifting would be a new way to do combat that aligns with mobile play, more afk, your player sits back while your conjuration, or your new (Stronger transformation) fights for you, so less risk to the player.

4) I know OSRS is pushing towards player "classes" (I might be wrong I haven't player OSRS, I heard that in a video). Necromancy/Shapeshifting would be a complete new way of doing combat, hence a new class and honestly something that RS needs as we've only had 3 classes since RS was created (excluding the classic version).

5) Quest hints:
- The player has been imbued with strange powers every time a Mahjarrat has died and more recently when
a certain Mahjarrat was killed during succession
. I think all of those powers, coming from beings that are strong in magic and often use necromancy/shapeshifting will have an effect on the player.
- That one quest where we were summoning the dead (can't remember which one).
- I think most quests with Moia we've controlled her and used her abilities as if she was our own player. That combat style could be applied to necromancy.
- Majharrat keep dying and giving us powers
Lucien, Sliske, Bilrach

Thoughts?"

Skill idea, will we be able to summon generic monsters like zombies or skeletons OR THROUGH NEW QUEST UNLOCKS, we will be able to summon past characters that have died in the storyline like the dead Mahjarrats?

I honestly hate when they kill off a Mahjarrat, they are such unique characters. Quest developers just end up plugging more of them in the storyline after they kill off the bad ones.
I hope we will be able to bring some back as playable characters through necromancy.

Thoughts?

We don't bring back dead characters as playable characters because undead characters don't have their own minds.

Undead characters return as mindless zombie familiars or just memories. Maybe they can help us to fight, or gather items or unlock other Relics, totem powers etc. That's possible.

That could still work, since it's a combat skill we would only need their combat abilities. Using a dead Mahjarrat would be pretty awesome lol

Arrav had his own mind; well, at least, he did after we recovered his heart. So long as we don't remove the hearts of whoever we raise, and keep providing enough magic to sustain their bodies (Arrav's undead form only died because Zemoregal's magic wasn't sustaining it anymore), those we revive could still have their minds.

Usual undead won't have their hearts removed and preserved like Arrav. Look at the typical skeletons. Their internal organs have all disintegrated naturally over time.

Also look at Arrav. Restoring his heart won't keep him for long. He lost his mind again shorting before Ritual of Mahjrrat and eventually died forever.

We could resurrect zanik for goblin related buffs

We could resurrect hazelmere for temporary t4 luck while he's summoned

We could resurrect orlando smith for temporary clue related buffs

We could resurrect xenia for pvm buffs

We could add a summon for linza for getting barrows armor effect without needing to wear it

We could reanimate monster heads for necromancy xp and combat and prayer xp

We don't necessarily need the person to even have a body left, hence why we could resurrect orlando even though he was burnt to ashes. The possibilities for necromancy whether or not it will be a 120 skill are endless.
