So, while messing around in game today, I happened to over-hear some conversation that we could see a t90/92/99 hatchet in the future. Personally, I think this would be a fantastic idea and is extremely long over due, as wood cutting with a t70 + perks is extremely slow.

We've been asking for this for awhile now and apparently its now being quietly discussed in various circles.

So, if the crystal hatchet is to no longer be top tier and we're going to skip t80 all together, sweet! If we're going to be able to make one similar to how we make Earth and Song, I'm all for it!

But as far as the lower tier metals, such as orikalkum - elder rune, we should keep these as viable metals for skillers to use.
Obviously, some coding will be needed to give hatchets strengths similar to what we see already with pickaxes.

So are the rumors and chatter true?

Probably being saved for a woodcutting overhaul

After the disaster that was M&S rework, I doubt they will go the same path but its even less useful and engaged with than M/S were before so I'd expect some changes, new content, new tools/items and rebalancing in terms of gp and exp rates some time in the future. The problem is I doubt jagex high ups will approve anything unless its also being made a 120 as they won't consider it worth dev time if it doesnt waste 100000000000 player hours for every minor update You'll get it when you deserve it.
