"Whilst 8 is recommended, I very much expect the norm, once people learn the encounter, to be 4"
- @JagexSchrew

And no, Solak and Vorago are certainly not dead content for the experienced players.

Don't forget Solak was originally designed for 7 players but it quickly became a duo boss.

Actually players are soloing Solak now and I'll imagine eventually many players will end up soloing or duoing Creosus too.

Just because a very small minority of players still kill those bosses doesn't mean it's not dead content. Solo content will always be more appealing to the masses.

Group content with great rewards like Sinkholes aren't dead content for a reason.

Group content like Macab with mediocre reward may be semi-dead content.

Group content with crap rewards such as old minigames like Castle Wars are bona fide dead content because of crap rewards.

Creosus has great rewards. There are always pvmers wanting the new arrowtips and skillers itching for the new offhands and the T90 armors, especially when it is the highest tier armor ironmen can get all by themselves without pvming. It won't be dead content for quite a while because the rewards are great for different kinds of players.

I think it'll depend on how the reward system works. Sinkholes is tolerable group content because even though you're in a group, your reward success isn't dependent on how well your team performs. If you can "die" in this boss because your team is incompetent and receive no rewards, then it'll go the way of all other group bossing where only a small minority will continue to do it.

Dungeoneering is a perfect example of why random ragtag group member content sucks. I don't want my success to be dependent on a bunch of mouth breathers. I guess we'll see how it goes, but group content is just not enjoyable for the majority of players. Not sure why Jagex thinks otherwise.

Dungeoneering is no dead content, although a lot of players do Sinkholes. This is actually an illustration group content is not always dead content.

In the case of dungeoneering floors, the rewards are actually not exclusive as we can get Tokens from different activities. Yet, plenty of players still group for floors.

Now that the great rewards are exclusive from Crosesus. As long as the rewards remain exclusive I certainly think plenty of players are going to group for it.

As for your personal concern, just don't do any minigames with groups like Castle Wars, Soul Wars, Fishing Trawler etc ever in RSC, RS2, RS3 and OSRS then. Either you create your own group or you don't do them if you don't trust the other random teammates.

I didn't say Dunegoneering was dead content. I said playing with random people sucks and it does. At least it gives the option to solo train it. But if you remember, the solo exp rates we only made reasonable after years of people complaining about having to play in a group. And it's a skill, not a boss so people are compelled to train it. If it was a minigame only, it would be dead content.

Alienating people is exactly my point and makes no sense for the longevity of content….

It's the blatant lie of Runescape's first skilling boss that got me

What the hell they declassified Big Game Hunter as?

Last I looked it was a BOSS with 90,000 lp and the boss animation HP bar requiring SKILLING in hunter, woodcutting, farming and maybe construction in order to complete the kill

Maybe the first group skilling boss but it's not the first skilling boss.

Extremely misleading headline.

Try not to showcase the toxicity of PVM community Dilbert please.

Dislike that it's group, I hope it's not abused like all other group content by elitist scumbags that ruin everything.. We'll see..

All the group minigames have been in Jagex's games for close to 20 years. Don't tell us Jagex have been alienating solo players for as long. Don't forget this is an MMORPG, we are suppsoed to have multiplayer content.

Also, don't tell us all the mingames didn't live long. Many of them have been good for a few years before bots killed them.
