Pretty exciting to see jagex stepping up the models/ graphical fidelity of the game.. With all the new next gen consoles coming out, 4k hdr 120 hz gaming, 8k hdr 60hz gaming... Just gets me excited for all the possibilities, and I can't help but wonder the thought.... 4k RuneScape....???? :0.... Jaw dropper. Imagine RuneScape with real time graphics and hdr 4lk or 8k or whatever! RuneScape 4 anyone? Eh? You see what I'm getting at? They did this back in 2008 when they started updating everything or maybe that was 2013, my bad I was so young then but when they started doing stuff like this back then, it turned into what we have now... So we can imagine what Jagex truly has planned, especially with the new and very ambitious owners, you could bet money they're looking to compete in the next gen gaming world... So... Heres to the beginning of a very very awesome generation in the gaming industry.

If Jagex go down that road (and I'm sure they will eventually), I hope they can make the game engine more efficient.

At the moment it's very taxing on graphics processing - I've got a fairly high end GPU and even with that (and a mild overclock) I can't run all settings on Ultra.

I'm all for improvements and the game looking better but it has to remain usable for people with all kinds of PCs.

There is no reason to believe any Jagex games now or in the future won't be usable for people with all kinds of PCs as long as those PCs are usable under the supports of Microsoft and other software/hardware OEMs. Of course, if they still run a version before Windows 10, even MS doesn't support it, then it is only for Jagex to provide limited support.

The exception is Java will probably be phased out in all of Jagex's games in the future. The demise of the Java client is the only thing I can see that makes a different in the future.

Last but not least, don't forget we can always lower the settings to adjust to future updates in RS3. RS3 players can always adjust their settings to meet the future standards in exchange for present day quality of audio/visual gameplays. :)

Not sure I would call it rs4 but any graphical improvement will be for looks only.
How many games do you know where avatar is super intense--only to hide it all behind gear and helmet.LOL
I would much prefer that they improve servers and bugs. would be nice to consistently play without lagg. or not have items in bank turn into weird things like chronicle fragments turn into air runes or a restore potion turn into a banite ore. Or the more frustrating thing-items becoming invisible . Avatar customization (as fun as it sounds) does nothing to improve game play and knowing how updates get bugged often-may even hinder game play

Very true, but if the client could be streamlined so that more people could use higher settings, that would be great.

Not really relevant in the slightly longer term as all of Jagex present and new games will be moving to Cloud, perhaps eventually all under the Jagex Partners platform.

I just want them to settle on a standard so they can start looking at bringing legacy content up to snuff.

As I believe there is already a "standard" for in the making for all Jagex's past, present and future games - Jagex Partners on Cloud.
