This post is specifically about upcoming Membership & Bond prices increase. Some one you may agree, some of you may not.
Firstly I support Jagex with this update for a few reasons.
•The average global inflation rate is 33.8% since 2010.
•The value of $1 in 2010 is worth $1.32 today.
•The cost of membership is going up by 31.8%.
•The cost of bonds is going up by 35% roughly.
•All businesses must adjust to suit inflation, which they are clearly doing here.
Here we can see they are fairly adjusting the cost of their membership costs with an average global inflation rate. This may be different depending on what part of the world you are from.
I would also like to talk about BONDS, and how you can better prioritize you real life time and have a healthy work, life, game balance.
One thing I want you to consider is what is the monetary value of your time?
For example using an adult working in New Zealand
•The cost of a bond will be roughly $10.84
•They may earn $30
•That person could work for 1 hour and buy nearly 3 bonds. which would be roughly worth 150m (before the price increase in game one the update occurs).
Now ask yourself this. Could you earn 150m in 1 hour of game time? I certainly can't. I would much rather pay for membership and or in game cash for significantly less game time. So I can focus on playing and enjoying the game and doing skills etc., rather then worrying about how I'm going to earn money in game to keep up with membership.
This may not all suit you and might even get you the wrong way, but overall I would prefer leave aside 1 hour of my wages per month to pay for my membership rather than adding on additional hours of trying to make money.
I would easily waste $13 in one visit to the shop buying unnecessary food. So why would I get caught up buying 1 bond for in game cash that is going to significantly increase my playing experience for the better.
