So watching the latest update video (27 february) on the upcoming avatar refresh made me a bit worried.

First off, the female model looks way too masculine now. The back is about the same size as the guy model. Calves are the size of a cow's. Flat chest, six-pack, broad shoulders, long arms and a thousand yard stare in her eyes (I mean that the eyes look dead if you didn't get the reference). It's a man with manboobs at this point.

I understand the point that you want the models to look like athletes, but do they have to look like bodybuilders? Muscle size doesn't always equal muscle strength either.

That's my problem with the male model aswell. Why do males need to have an 8-pack and gigantic muscles? Same problem with the face here.

And the last thing that applies to all models:

Why do we have to look like we're 60 years old? Can't you make the characters look just a bit younger? Can't we choose how our faces should look?

I hope this project will attach the master capes of accomplishment to my gear, because right now it's floating somewhere else. Same for the amulets and some wings.

But there are more hairstyles that female characters are likely to have more interest. :)

Who knows. They are also working on fingers. We can't rule out Manicure to be a thing in the future, especially for the female World Guardian. :D

This is why we need options and different body models.

jagex is taking months to work on just one body type for male and female?? that is so underwhelming and it's only going to piss off people who don't like how it looks.

people want a personalized avatar not some junky muscle cow to make every play look the same.

The engine doesn't support it for the past 20 years unfortunately. That's why we never have races in all of Jagex's Runescape games. There is no saying they won't be looking into reworking it in the future though but even so it is going to be quite a while.
