I don't post much but I see a lot of threads concerning all skills to level 120. This may have already been suggested/posted. Personally, I don't think they all need to be raised to that level. Why not group them along the lines of Hard (99), Master (120), Elite (120 requiring 99s in several skills). Which skills is open to debate. Is 120 agility or rune crafting needed ? I don't believe so. Please consider this.

If the skills are balanced and the grind removed. Then other content can be reworked for solo players. The programming is there from the world events. I don't know how complicated that would be. If it can be done, I would play more mini-games than pyramid plunder and temple trekking.

Thoughts?

Fully agree. Those who are asking for every skill to be 120 are just wanting a gold sink, except more 120s isn't the way to go. Let players get 200m in every current 120 skill first before thinking about ruining the game even more.

You realise that a gold sink can be a good thing right? Best not to post when you're drunk mate.

What needs to be considered are needs of the WHOLE community not just the "top" max cash max levels players. and in my personal opinion forcefully dragging skills to 120 is a very very BAD idea.

Since Runecrafting is used to make Magic weapons and armour (at least, that's the direction Jagex has been going for a few years now), it'll make sense to make it go to 120 when, and only when, the combat triangle skills are increased to 120 (because tier 100+ gear isn't going to make itself).

Agility, on the other hand... there's no way it deserves to go to 120 in its current form. Not even close. The only way I see it going to 120 in the foreseeable future is if they rework the skill entirely, where it would make a little sense to do while they're redesigning the skill anyway. But honestly, I don't think we need to worry about that for a looooooong time.

In general, I feel like a skill can go to 120 if it's got enough content to fill out its first 99 levels and needs room to grow further. Of the 120 skills that we already have, the only ones I think are deserving of it even now are Herblore, Invention, and Archaeology.

Farming still needs more high-level plants that are worth growing (the fact the majority of the ones past 99 serve no purpose beyond having marginally more/less pulp than the others is damning), Slayer still needs significantly more monsters than it has, and Dungeoneering needs to not be an absolute dumpster fire of a skill, before they're worthy of going to 120 in my eyes.

The only other skills I think are close to being ready to go to 120 in their current state are Fishing and Cooking, and Fishing still needs to pad out the gaps it has in its 70s and 80s before it's "there".

as long as they can make relevant items and stuff to go with the levels, i dont
see a problem.

Dont make 120 agility if its not gonna help you in some way. Same with the
other skills.

Now, I like getting 120 capes for fashionscape (shameless i know) but if it
is a skill that will go up to 120, just make relevant items to go with it.
The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

I just had a thought; I think we might get 120 Summoning next, and it might even happen this year.

During Tuesday's stream, it was revealed that there's going to be a release in September tied into something that came out in 2008, a year when Summoning was the only new skill released. But we also know that Jagex has been considering a rework of Summoning where the lion's share of XP is taken away from making pouches and put onto actually using Familiars (IIRC, the plan was to basically remove the Melee/Ranged/Magic XP from a Familiar's kill/assist and instead give Summoning XP)

"But Vengeance," I hear you say, "lots of things came out in 2008. Why do you think Summoning is the piece of content getting updated?"

And it's true there's a lot of possibilities. But something happened this year that makes a lot more sense if Summoning is getting reworked: Ancient Summoning. Or, more specifically, how incredibly low the XP is from creating Binding Contracts and binding demons with them compared to pouches of a similar level.

I wonder if these XP values were made that low so that they wouldn't need to adjust them when Summoning gets reworked and XP from making pouches is reduced, which would be an odd thing to do if it was going to be a while. If it was only ever going to be a five to six month period, on the other hand, it wouldn't be that out of character for Jagex.

And if Summoning is going to be rebalanced, it would make a lot of sense for Jagex to make the skill a 120 skill while they were at it. It's possible it could happen later than this and the September update might just cover what we already have -- but it's also worth noting that
GWD3 is also in development and it is probably being balanced around a reworked Summoning if it is, indeed, the September update, which is even more reason to bring it to 120 beforehand.

It's pure speculation naturally but I think the pieces fit into place well enough to at least consider it as a possibility.
