Overall a really Good Start

I can see a lot of potential to the project as it stands after watching the recent video overview. I like that the characters integrate well into the game and it stays true to the current content. However I am slightly disappointed, after brainstorming about what the rework was going to be like with my in game friends, that the characters are not more customizable. I am a huge fan of Runescape and have been playing for over 15 years on and off but I was hoping for something a little different.

Customizable Characters

I was hoping to see ways to change height, weight and body types. I was hoping to see a way to change and customize facial features so that every character is not the same as it is today. In other games I have played, you can change things such as height, weight, shoulder width, hip width, bust width on the body. On the face you could change things like: eye shape, nose shape, mouth width, and even cheekbones. What I am saying is that I would like to have seen a way to make each character more unique to fit the desire of the player who is playing that individual character. You can see such things in more modern games, but I did not see these improvements this time around, which means we have massive future potential for our characters in game.

Future

In the future I hope you integrate more character customizations similar to what is found in modern MMORPGS, but I am happy to see that the game is moving in the right direction graphically and hope that some future updates include such things as: a graphical rework to player owned houses and the ability to move rooms without destroying all your work for example. Other improvements could be a rework of major cities and biomes in game to fit the detail of a city like Prif.

GOOD JOB TEAM! Keep up the good work!

Tbh i think it will just end up like all the others graphical reworks and we'll just have another COMPLETELY out of style model which badly merges with everything else.

I foresee armors/outfits/weapons which won't be updated and will retain prehistoric era skins.
Or worse some of them get updated, some not, and most of the "new" models shoveled as solomon overrides.

Don't get me wrong - graphical updates are a good thing - but I think if you decide to rework e.g. cities, either do them all or none

Same for character/outfits/weapons etc

This is honestly my biggest concern, the blog post also implies no existing armours/cosmetics will be updated, outside of the character's default clothing, leaving us with higher poly models hidden beneath lower poly outfits, making me wonder what the point even is.

I get that it's more work, but it also makes the update actually change something.

i hope jagex reduce the light reflection on the skin.
At the moment it looks like the characters just had a bath in sunmilk

But body builders pour oil on their bodies to achieve similar effect. :)

Great, so when they add the bodybuilder class, then I'll care. Until then, it just looks cheesy.

You can think body builders are cheesy in real life too, but it is NOT YOUR OWN body. However, we are going to be not just muscular but also flexy after the Avatar Rework. We don't need a class, we ARE just that muscular and flexy man or woman that others can envy. :)

The point is we are going forward with update future outfits, while leaving the old cosmetics the more retro look players, especially in these RSOF, asked for.

Sorry, my concerns are directed at Jagex, which despite your odd use of "We", I'm quite sure you're not a part of..

NP. Actually from what Jagex wrote - don't panic, it suggested they aren't updating old cosmetics because otherwise people may panic.
