They state a shard can be obtained through various skills.

So can you obtain one from mining, fishing, etc to eventually collect 8 or once you obtain through mining, you cannot get another through fishing?

I'm asking because I'm a level 3 skiller and wondering if I'll be able to obtain it.

only one will be through fishing/gathering skills.

As a skiller you might be limited, but you should be able to do the following.

VIP
Free shard from Wise old man
Gathering skills
Support Skills
Artisan Skills
30m gp shard
Quest
Christmas free yak track
or even clue scrolls

Any 8 out of the list is enough shards to form it, so combat/bossing isn't necessarily required. Would love to see 200m capes.

My own question though is, if we are skilling in a way that trains multiple skills in different categories at the same time. How will we know which shard we got?

I would love to afk some combat, which for me would train Farming, Combat, and Firemaking. So that's three categories I could get a shard from at any time.

Will we get a chat message stating that "Through your training in Artisan skills, you receive a golden partyhat shard!" or something to that effect?
