There is a new Scythe and Wreath in the Grand Exchange.

Are they re-releasing Christmas Scythe? Or offering a cosmetic upgrade to the original? Maybe bringing out a new one? - I hope it's not a re-release of the old one...

Something like: "Upgrade your scythe/wreath by adding 10,000 Gift Wrap!" is my guess.
It'd compete with Green Santa as people would choose between upgrading or RNG presents.

Could this be the start of 'upgradable' holiday items? I hope so!
They did it with Santa & Beard, why not do the same with tradeables?

People that buy out / hoard holiday items and don't log back into their accounts would miss out, it'd encourage them to play the game to upgrade their items (or sell surplus stock).

It'd be like prestige-ing items, rewarding consecutive event participation.

All I have heard is that it's apparently available from 25th December. I do have the Christmas Scythe, so it'll be interesting to compare it to the Gift Wrap variation. Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

Perhaps this is Jagex's newest attempt to answer the whole "should we reimplement old rares to please new players, or keep them rare to appease the older ones" question? Letting older players show off their account's age by letting them keep their "retro" versions of the cosmetic, while giving a way for newer players to obtain a higher-fidelity "modern" lookalike.

If so, I think that's a smart way of handling it; pretty much the best of both worlds.
