We are told next Monday we will have a Fort Forinthry Yak Track as well as a series of Quest Interface updates from Mod Stu's Game Jam Project.

A little later perhaps, we will also have remastered graphics over old places like Varrock, Karamja etc from the Game Jam Projects of the artists Jmods like Mods Alex, Dragon, etc.

We will have a quest featuring a royal murder mystery, which will start the main storyline of Fort Forinthry, which will be the prelude to the new Necromancy skill. This may come in March.

We are also told over the span of the Fort Forinthry storyline, we will have all kinds of updates with skilling, combat, events, quests etc the coming year or two. We are going to have new buildings, graphics, terrains updates from the ever evolving stories.

We will have a GE rework, headlined by trading of items with values over max gp. I am expecting something similar to the Bank Rework, there may be quite a few QoL updates that will make GE much more accessible and easier for to use and organize our offers. Perhaps presets will be nice.

We will have a new Necromancy skill this year. So far, no details have been leaked perhaps with some speculations it may come in or before Summer this year.

Mod Stead previewed the new VFX system this year with a developer blog near the end of last year.

Mod Keeper said of technical infrastructure updates which will lead to "sort-of almost RS4". The Jagex Launcher Jmods also told us about an 0.3s Tick system is on the Horizon.

Avatar Refresh will resume next year.

On the art and tech fronts, hopefully we can hear more details soon, and Mod Hooli last told us they were planning on a reveal livestream later this month.

The above updates were revealed and covered perhaps up to the end of 2024. As for the future of the game after 2024 and up to 2030, the ones I can remember are RS3(or sort-of-almost RS4) on consoles, and likely Switch first, as well as migration to UE5.
