why jagex release 2 skills same time?is there any reason jagex can do it?i mean its kinda booring every time we got only 1 new skill..why not add 1 normal and 1 elite skill same time?
first you would need to train normal skill to 80 or higher before you can start train elite skill.

Did you even bother to read the whole thing? They're not introducing new "skills" but rather new methods of training existing skills. They're adding a new agility course so that's one new way to train Agility and they've added new things for Hunter and Farming as well.

Direct quote from the news item:

"This exciting new space will be a buzz of activity where you’ll be able to employ three new skilling methods for rewards and XP – and embark on two new miniquests in the Elder God Wars saga!"

Three new skilling METHODS.

I think there's been a misunderstanding here. I'll assume that Aqarwaen is just asking a general question, which has nothing to do with the "Het's Oasis" update scheduled for next month.

Jagex could release two skills at the same time, but that wouldn't be feasible. Making a new skill is a lot of work - it has to be planned, designed and tested, and Jagex have to be sure it fits in with existing content; all this requires a lot of time and manpower. Try to make two skills at the same time, and the problem becomes many times bigger.

Also, releasing a new skill potentially locks players out of the max/completionist capes for several months. Even if a grace period is implemented, not everybody plays for hours and hours every day - players who were about to get one of those capes feel like it's being kept away from them, and players who already own the capes feel a pressure to train the skills as quickly as possible so they don't lose their perks.

Exactly this. And to top it all off, most of the past few skills have been very large at launch compared to the old days; Invention had to be split up into batches to get everything out within a reasonable time frame (something that hadn't been done since Summoning); Archaeology's release, which was quite large and one of, if not the most "polished out of the box" skills ever, still required Jagex to spend the next few months fine-tuning everything instead of releasing new content; Divination's the only skill to come out in the past 11 years to not go all the way to level 120 at release, which is even more content to need to polish; and honestly, even some of the most recent skills (Dungeoneering and Divination) are generally considered to be in need for more content to flesh them out, even all these years later.

Releasing two or more skills at once would be a disaster. Every new skill needs Jagex's undivided attention for it to become all that it deserves to be. You wouldn't want something as major as a new skill to be an unfinished, buggy mess when it came out; the damage that would cause to the game (and, depending on the skill, the economy) would be immense.

Quality > quantity. "More" skills don't mean better. In recent years RS3 took their time to release only a new skill every 2 or 3 years. Archaeology and Invention are XL if not XXL projects. Likewise, I think future new skills are going to be game changing ones too.

They could have made POF a new skill and called it Herding or something like that. In that way, they could release 2 new "skills" at the same time, but in RS3 they'll rather just call them updates to existing skills.
