To be honest, it's bizarre to me that this nerf would occur when the concern was that it "made the game too easy". I would have thought that the bleed balanced it out. I could see the argument for phasing, but shouldn't the ring give you incentive to complete the kill for longer time-gated boss fights like Vorago? I don't see this as a huge issue. Also in regards to the bleed increase, why couldn't the ring have just done hard typeless damage that wouldn't be reduced by animate dead rather than increasing the damage it dealt?
And if we're concerned about the item making "the game too easy", shouldn't animate dead and "crutchbloom" be looked at with the same criticism? The combination literally reduces damage by over 50% in many instances and it in combination with hellhounds is the only way people are getting over 4000% enrage Zammy kills. Wouldn't that be a better indication of what is overpowered in the game? I haven't seen a single person do it in Ranged or Melee.
I'm also stating this as someone who was not really an advocate for the ring in its pre-nerf state. Post initial change (pre-nerf), this ring procced and ruined one of my AOD kills on my main due to the bleed with it procing before my Sign of Life. It has sat in my bank since as I thought it was pretty useless and that there were better rings. I think this change is just going to exacerbate the same mindset.
