So a lot of people are excited about the logout timer being extended. I'm not. Most of the time it doesn't bother me either way, but the 5minute timer perfectly aligns with the 5 minute chopping time for Elder Trees. I'm doing this woodcutting setup when I'm focusing on doing other things in real life, but still want to get a bit of RS experience in. Sometimes I come back in 5minutes, other times it's not for 20-30minutes that I can return to RS.

So I have my buffs going, chop for 5 mins, and am logged out, which maintains my buffs optimally. If the logout timer is extended to 10-15mins, my buffs will continue to tick down while I'm doing nothing. I don't find this to be ideal.

Therefore my suggestion is for players with a logout timer greater than 5minutes, there should be an option to adjust the logout timer back to 5minutes. Better yet make it a slider. Want 6minutes or 7minutes? Done.

I completely agree.

I don't know of any situation where a longer log in timer is a good thing. Almost every activity lasts no more than 5 minutes, and the few that do last longer tend to be no longer than 6-7 minutes.

Daily 15 mins of afk agility pillars trying to get my final skilling pet without running around in circles for a totally pointless skill. Also do not like having to put in bank pin if you lobby for more than 5 mins but if you afk in game doing nothing for 5-15 mins you can bypass it.

Apart from them 2 I cannot think of any other reason.

The buffs don't bother me with whatever the AFK timer is set at when I do AFK activities, as the buffs still tick down even I log out to the lobbies. Perhaps OP can be more specifics on what buffs they want to address when doing AFK activities?

I am not sure if there is a bank pin issue though, and if we are required to reenter our bank pin 15 minutes after logging out. If this is the case, I actually think giving us the option to set our custom bank pin reentering timer in a login session from 15 minutes to one hour. This should give us far more flexibility to every kind of gameplay instead of just AFK ones.

Dilbert, you must be playing OSRS? If so, please don't comment in these Forums. There is a separate area for you to voice your opinions.

In the real game, aka RS3, if you have Woodcutting buffs such as Scrimshaws, Auras, or Potions, they do not continue to deplete when in the lobby or when logged out.

So, as the original poster stated, having an adjustable log out timer would be beneficial for their way of playing the game away from keyboard.

Personally, I am usually hands on so I don't have any preference one way or the other in regards to the log out timer. I'm an old timer, and I feel like back in the day you needed to wiggle your mouse every 30-seconds to avoid the boot, so I somewhat maintain that twitch.

But yes, The The Chad, I see no reason not to have this feature for those who would use it. As long as it's easy for the J-kids to program it. That may be the biggest hurdle.
Bite me.

I am playing both RS3 and OSRS. I don't see why players who play RS3 and OSRS don't comment in this RS3 Recent Game Update forum for RS3 comments.

And I am talking RS3 in this Recent Game Update forum. OSRS has a much longer logout timer than RS3 through Runelite for quite a long time and there aren't many problems with it despite it is hardly recent. If you want to talk about OSRS, there is a separate area for you to voice your opinions.
