Sorry I'm confused, and have a couple of questions. I am f2p (not my main here), and I keep getting told I'm earning "Hero Points". And I go there, and some scale keeps going up, and I keep reaching "goals" or like that... I,II, and going to III or so...

... but nothing happens. I THINK I "spent" some "Hero Points" on a cosmetic outfit a couple of weeks ago, but NOW I can't find any way to spend them. In fact I can't find out how many I have. And the store only lists prices in "Hero Emblems" (I think). So what do I use "Hero Points" for, if anything? And did they remove the ability to purchase with them?

Also, until they reinstated the Daily Challenges, I would receive three lamps after a short time of doing anything... so I would mine 10 or 20 ores, and get a HUGE amount of exp with these lamps. Suddenly, they were gone, making participation in this new "thing" useless for me... I mean, if I don't get lamps, and if the Hero Points are not a currency I can buy anything with (anymore?), then it serves zero purpose for me.

So I suspect I'm missing some things here. All this programming must be for something... unless its sole purpose is to get us to buy stuff with real money? In any case, since there are no more lamps, and if there is no way to spend the "Hero Points" I'm supposedly "earning", I'd like to shut off the notifications in my chat box.

Anyone know how to do that?

Hero points will see you progressing through levelling up the Hero pass, granting you access to rewards as you go along.

The primary menu of the interface, the bar at the top is where Hero points go to. Once it reaches 1,000, you'll level up, allowing you access to the next reward (in this case, a Hero Satchel).

The goals are missions that, when completed, will grant you a decent amount of Hero points when claimed, helping you to level up faster.

Some of the missions. As you can see, they are split into three groups;
Basic Missions , which includes a three tiered daily "Gain Hero points", as well as a weekly version.
General Missions ; which can include random stuff such as completing Slayer assignments, gather Farming or animal produce, or catching 800 fish.
And finally, Special Missions ; which are unique missions that requires you to accomplish special milestones such as, in my case, reaching level 99 Necromancy, completing 20 Raptor assignments and, more recently, completnig the new quest that was just released.

As for Hero emblems, they are the currency that are often awarded upon reaching certain Hero pass levels (as you can see in the image above, I received 100 after reaching level 77, 78 and 80). They are the ones that are used in the Hero store to purchase additional cosmetics and what not.

As for the three lamps, Jagex temporarily made the tier one of the daily "Gain Hero points" mission give them as well as three Treasure Hunter keys while they worked on reinstating the Daily challenges system, which was where they could originally be obtained from (and can be obtained from now).
I do agree that it was much more lovely being able to gain them from Hero pass since you weren't forced to do specific stuff for them. But alas, it was nice while it lasted.

Anyways, hope this managed to shed some light on it for you. :)
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Hero Point is not a currency. You don't spend Hero Point directly.

Emblems are the currency we earn and spend by leveling up our Hero Pass Levels. Hero Pass Levels are leveled up by gaining Hero Points. This means we still have to gain Hero Points to get rewards from the Hero Stores, as well as the guaranteed rewards that come with each Hero Pass Level we gain.

We earn 350 Hero Points easily by doing each of the 3 Daily Mission. We gain 1050 Hero Points, or more than one Hero Pass level each day from just spending minutes to do the 3 Daily Missions.

Hey WTFmybacon and Dilbert2001 ! Thanks both for taking the time to explain that so clearly.
I'll try to make the most of it before it goes away
...

All the best...

It is really easy even if you just spend like 30 minutes every day playing RS3 in whatever way you normally play. Essentially you will be getting 1050 Hero Points (or more than 1 Hero Pass Level) as well as 2k Hero Points (or 2 Hero Pass Levels) per week.

We have 54 days left on the Hero Pass calendar. It means even if you just start playing 30 minutes of RS3 each day in whatever way you like TODAY, you will get:

1050 x 54 + 2000 x 8 = 72,700 Hero Points or over 72 Hero Pass Levels.

That's a lot of rewards for doing nothing extra other than playing the game your usual way.
