Now that Hero Pass has removed the 3 extra keys from daily challenges - what is the future of treasure hunter keys ? Will they only exist as the few we are given and must be used that day and those bought with bonds ? That opens the question of the future of oddments that are given away with keys ... It looks like vis wax needs a rework as the largest use for it is gone.

My main worry with the Hero Pass is the future changes it may bring to keys and oddments.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcomed.

In case if you don't know, we earn TH keys frequently playing the game in just about every way. Typically I picked up 3 TH keys if I played 8 hours a day. That's 3 times a free player gets, 1.5x times a member gets and the same number a Premium Club member gets.

Besides, we have TH keys from many sources. We get one from doing a designed weekly. We get 1 from monthly Troll Invasion D&D. We get 2 keys for each quest completed... and that means 514 TH keys as we have 257 quests in RS3. Great idea for new players who are short of keys to do a few quests on the fly. ;)

Note that I only listed member features that give us TH keys from just playing RS3. We also get TH keys from some events and promotions.

Of course, we can always buy TH keys with RS3 gp. RS3 gp -> RS3 Bond -> 15 TH keys each. This is yet another way to earn unlimited TH keys from just playing RS3 and converting RS3 gp to TH keys.

None of these far more lucrative and effective ways to earn TH keys by simply playing RS3 is changed.

I'm so glad that that you don't have a life outside of Runescape that you can play "8 hours a day". It explains SOOOO much. I how ever have a real life and the hour or so a day I play getting free stuff taken away still hurts.

While I agree that none of those things were changed, the fact remains:

THE KEYS WERE TAKEN AWAY WITH NO EXPLANATION OR REGRET BY JAGEX!!!

They didn't even offer a replacement for the lost xp/bonus/oddments from doing so

JUST "POOF"... GONE!!!

However, there is a solution...

Add to the rewards for daily missions enough oddments to purchase the lost keys. Either 400 for each of the 3 levels, or 200 first level, 400 second, and 600 third. 1200 oddments buys 3 keys so no loss no gain. Or if you dont want to buy the keys you can use the gained oddments for MANY other things in the store such as lamps or stars or cosmetics.

JAGEX themselves touted how great the oddment store changes were, so they can put their mouth where their GP is and back it up.

Or are you going to say Jagex's own ideas were wrong??
