I wanna preface this by saying I don’t really ever post because for the most part Jagex delivers banger updates. However egregious content deserves some feedback to prevent it from being a constant occurrence.
This update is one of those I would consider an MXT/Monetary update rather than a gameplay update and as such I am aware Jagex is more likely to not do anything since it involves money and not actual gameplay. Regardless I will post my thoughts.
As many of you know, this new hero pass succeeded our previous yak trak. Me personally I never cared for it. Meaning I would never grind it. I would simply collect whatever rewards I’d get from the levels I would earn thru my usual gameplay. I never bothered to max it out or level much. It never appealed to me.
Now this hero pass wouldn’t have bothered me if it weren’t for ONE MAIN THING. Our Daily Challenge System has been scrapped. I along with many enjoyed the DC system as it provided daily targeted experience among useful gameplay items like DT Darts, Livid Plants, Reaper points etc. I checked the pass and we have none of that. Instead now all we get is Cosmetics that frankly I and many others just don’t care for.
Another thing I noticed is that This Hero Pass thing is a permanent addition to the game. Unlike yak trak which came and went, this pass functions like every other game pass. Once this one expires in 90 days another begins.
US PLAYERS ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS MONETARY PRACTICE!
This FOMO predatory practice NEEDS to stop! The only reason they perform well is cuz players feel the need to get everything, not because players enjoy this content. It genuinely ruins the spirit of the game. The worst part of all is that having a Game Pass system in a membership based game feels bad cuz it feels like you need membership FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP! I get it’s just crappy cosmetics but since it’s gonna be a permanent addition to the game, now it genuinely feels like you’re missing out.
