A noticeable piece of new combat content, sort of like a minigame, stands out in the new quest.

The Ungael Arena is a new strategical minigame like Shattered Worlds for Necromancy, with the aid of a group of NPC allies.

The idea is pretty good as we have a minigame to hone our combat skills with strategies. It also opens up future expansions into more strategical combat minigames. However, I think we will need a better reward system.

What do you think?

What happens if bill, aster and raptor all get koed by losing their health? Does the encounter fail or can you still complete that wave with all the undead attacking you and then they recover after the next wave starts? I only did nm and hm once.

I think we certainly can, as we can summon our own undead minions to protect us while we heal. Remember, we can choose our powerup after each wave, so we can create our own strategy for different scenarios, if RS3 chooses to create more scenarios for future expansions of this minigame.

For this new quest prototype, I just used the safest and foolproof strategy of letting my allies and minions to bother the giant boss for the last wave while I just move around.

Like Shattered Worlds, if they have different waves, different mobs and different objectives for new expansion content, we may need different strategy to counter them. This is a very good thing, but we need to have the reasons to do them first - the rewards.

I didn't find it very strategic. I just selected the poweups randomly. I can't image it makes much of a difference what you choose.

That's only because there is only ONE scenario now. This is a prototype only.

this is a random baseless assertion. there is no evidence of any kind there will be any other scenarios

I am not saying any evidence of any kind of whatever. I am just commenting on its potentials with established content.

Same here. I do like the new quest though.

At least, they can give us different tiers of cosmetics, like what we get from Memory of Nomad depending on difficulties, or something rare and have good values like the Abomination cape, then it may become worthy and fun.
