Using noted bones at ritual

Why can we use noted bones when doing rituals? That doesn't make sense. Normally noted items can only be converted into unnoted items or used as payment, so why can we now suddenly use them as ingredients for training a skill?

Why do we need noted bones when we can use them automatically from the Focus Storage?
That is irrelevant to my question. We shouldn't be able to use noted items to train skills. It is an inconsistency in the game's mechanics.

That is irrelevant to my question. We shouldn't be able to use noted items to train skills. It is an inconsistency in the game's mechanics.

You are at last 15 years too late when we can do different things to noted items, including but not limited to alching and dissembling them. Plenty of old school players alch noted items to train magic for over 15 years. Oh! How inconsistency in the game's mechanics?

Alching and disassembling noted items are just other examples of inconsistent game mechanics. The fact that is hasn't been changed in 15 years doesn't make it better, only worse.

It's in line with how archeology works.

It's also consistent with how smithing works post rework.

If you want to hinder your own experience for an old-school feel, feel free to do so. Might want to skip any post smithing training, though. And finish up arch the hard way.

What inconsistent game mechanics when we have been doing it for like 15 years? When we have been able to do all kinds of things with noted items for 15 years, it becomes consistent.
