We have familiars, pets, and now conjured undead to help us fight and do things in RS3.

While they are good helpers, they don't have their own stories and adventures to tell us. They are more like... pets...we don't call them our friends or companions, right?

With the Ungael Arena fight, there comes the Companion System which known NPCs with lore and specific talents and skills fight alongside us. This reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons Companion settings and the classic Ultima series companions.

Now, if you want to bring some storied NPCs to your future in game adventures, especially for the upcoming Misthalin and Age of Chaos questlines, who will you bring?

The most logical ones are the Signature Heroes. Ariande and the Raptor have been fighting by our sides often. Sir Owen should be featured in the future white knight/Saradomin quest as the Temple Knights have left with the Zarosian demon imposter. Since the World Guardian is also a mighty Necromancer now, we should be able to bring Linza and Xenia back to our side.

There are also the funny Thok, knowlegeable Charos and our Fort Forinthry crews to choose from.

What about our own apprentices like Meg from POP, or maybe the 3 NPCs we leveled up in Temple Trekking? I have spent a decade training Meg and a lot of hours on the Temple Trakking NPCs only to have them bound to D&D and minigames. It will be nice we can actually get them to show their master what they have learned in the game. This will also make these D&D and minigames more pertaining to the persistent RPG theme MMORPG like RS3 should have, instead of dull, isolated content. :)

Another thought... I have told Juna numerous stories these 22 years, how about Juna travelling with us so she can tell us a story or two someday?

New idea...

Seeing there are players wanting to play multiple characters under the same account for one membership price, and there is no realistic chance because of technical and financial constraints on Jagex's side, how about letting us summon our alts as our companions so we can still have a taste of interactions among our characters.

Different alts may have different adventures, skills and class builds. Of course, high value alts will have higher requirement to summon as companions.

My favorite companion is my wily hellcat. Fond memories of bringing it along to slug menace when the quest first came out, and getting stuck in a bugged prince fight because of him. Worth it.

Unfortunately it is a pet, it is programmed to occupy the pet slot. A companion I am taking about can be summoned at the same time with a pet or familiar out.
