Macro to spam left click?

Hey everyone!

I know that the use of macros is generally against the rules (for obvious reasons) however I would appreciate peoples advice on the use of a left mouse click macro?

My reason for asking is that I'm trying to figure out a way to make my mouse quieter. Due to different working hours coupled with the fact that our PC is in the same room we sleep in, I usually find myself playing RS while my boyfriend is asleep. He has said that on occasion the clicking has kept him awake at night. Ha ha.

Would even a simple macro to left click every ~200ms be against the rules/picked up or would this be okay in the long run?

If you have a quiet keyboard and are running Windows then you can use the Mouse Keys accessibility feature. With that you just tap the numeric 5 for left click. You can also buy a USB numeric pad from Amazon for about $10 which opens up some other options. Like holding down on the space bar on your main keyboard while tapping 5 on the numeric to spam click (enchanting bolts).

It's also nice as it lets you switch hands and/or fingers.
