Hello,

Might be a silly question, but I was thinking about starting an Ironman account, as well as keeping my main.

Do I have to pay for TWO memberships to do this? Or does 1 membership cover up to 10 characters?

Each account needs its own membership. For example, if I were to be a member, I'd have access to both Old School RuneScape and RuneScape on Mrs Ana with one membership. However, if I had another account, say XYZ123, then I'd need a separate membership for that one.

Our characters are not forced to be specialized however, unless we expressly choose to limit ourselves, a single character can do everything - it's not like some games where you can be a melee fighter, OR a mage, OR a ranger, but not all 3.... Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

I agree with you. We pay membership for our main. Then we pay another subsription for an IM alt, and yet another subscription for GIM.

In other games, we pay one subscription for many characters with different classes, races etc, but in RS3/OSRS IM and GIM are restricted version of our main. So we are paying two or three subscriptions to play for less content in IM and even less for GIM.

Jagex's IM subscription is just a big ripoff to me. IM/GIM are just flat out crap values luxury services to me. So I usually ignore them 95% of the time.

Membership discounts on second/third/additional accounts could be handy.

Historically this may have been slightly challenging to manage, as players could have passed on discounts to their friends.

However, this could be more feasible now with Jagex Accounts (i.e. any discounts would only apply to characters/accounts linked under same Jagex Account). Sixth Realm | Community Clan Founded in 2009

We will only be getting monetized more and more with IM style pay-extra-to-get-less-content game mode unfortunately until the new Jagex put proper monetization into OSRS and their other games.

Look at all the other games please. They let us pay multiple characters, each with expanded and unique game play, with only 1 membership, only because they have more MTX than just bonds in their game,

The only solution to not paying more membership in Jagex is not to pay for the far inferior valued IM.
