so yesterday i just hit 99 crafting and i would like to buy my crafting cape to show it off so i go to the crafting trainer guy and he says "i cant sell you the cape come back on a memebers world." and i got 99 crafting on a non member acc cutting diamonds and rubys i should be able to buy a skill cape for a non member skill that i got on a non member acc. i dont want to waste money in real life or gold in the game just to be a member for 5mins so i can buy a cape that should all ready be for non memebers. the bond costs 75mil do you know how long it takes to make that? im a level 3 skiller i make money from mining rune ore you would need 30-40k rune ore to buy a bond mining rune takes a long time. i have 21-30mil i put a offer in the GE for 21.4mil around there skill capes should not be locked behind a pay wall. for a "free player skill" im not wasting money to pay for members just to put a cape on that i earned as a non member. and i cant trade 30mill they have "trade limit" to. so now you have to waste money to pay for memnership and to remove the trade limit. if only they would make me a mem for 5mins so i can buy a cape put it on then log off. so im buying a bond for 21-30mil on the GE. they are not worth 75mil they only give 7 days thats a waste of money.

As far as I know skill capes have always been members items and can't be used on f2p worlds, like most members items they can be worn in a free world but can't be equipped once removed on a free world and have no use other then looking pretty

Sorry, Jagex's Runescape games, since membership was introduced in 2002, have always been the "freemium" kind of free to play games. If you want to wear premium items like a skill cape, you need to pay membership.

There are still ways to make decent gp for free players in RS3, fortunately. RS3 bonds are now only 63 mil gp each on the GE, and I actually bought 20 of them at 61.5 mil each 2 days ago.
They aren't 75 mil each now, in case if you haven't checked lately and missed the good news.

Thankfully to RS3 free players, runite stone spirits are free to play too. With runite ores selling for 2,742 gp each on the GE, you will need to sell 23k runite ores to get the gp for a RS3 Bond at current GE price. With runite stone spirits, effectively you only need to mine 11.5k of them. With ore boxes, and opt-in Wildy pvp, essentially we can get 11.5k runite ores in the level 5 Wildy mine and bank them effortlessly in a pretty short time.

Since OP mentioned they maxed crafting by cutting rubies and diamonds. don't forget they can craft necklaces out of the cut gems and make 1.5k to 2k each, and another 1.5k each enchanting them. Crafting is a good money making methods, even for free players in RS3.

This also brings to another point that may help other free players in the process of maxing crafting in RS3 and also want to max their gp return for a few RS3 Bonds in the process... Don't just cut the gems for crafting xp, better craft them into valuable jeweleries too. So do the calculations ahead and you don't need to cut as many gems, and actually make a lot more gp.

After reading this, I felt kind of bad that someone worked to 99 on f2p only to realize that the skillcape is members only.

Later I felt okay because it's obvious that the OP is now a members and is able to enjoy all that membership offers + their first (?) skillcape!

I will receive my first ever one this week after playing the game since 2006

Yes, congratulations to OP for maxing RS3 crafting and becoming a member shortly after he made his post.

As I mentioned, it is easy to get membership in RS3. Actually, out of all the MMO I know with the Bond free to play mechanism, RS3 is the easiest one to not just get free membership, but also far easier to maintain it with RS3 gp we gain playing the game.
