I have noticed on a lot of occasions - when I use ranged - I find it a Bit stupid - that after I shot my 1 st arrow at an enemy - that my character automatically follows it until it kills me - I would Never be so stupid in Real Life - is there Not a way - to make combat mode -Full manual completely manual so that my character stops following the enemy ??? If American soldiers fought like that they would all be Dead !!

I been wanting to ask this for many years - if my setting was on revolutionary then Yes I would understand why my character would follow the enemy.

I will try to follow your logic... to be clear you are saying that you do not like that when you target an npc/ Pc etc you ( your Char) attempt to keep fighting it by following it to shoot more arrows at it if they move out of range?

until you notice you're being hurt and attempt to rectify the situation by either
1. killing the attacker.
2. running from the attack.
or
3. Stand there like a confused commoner in d&d while the other guy attempts to make your stomach into a hat because you shot them?

I want to be clear on one thing
you
are the driving force behind your pc's actions. If you shoot a bear in real life and fail to kill it one of three things are going to happen.

1. you will attempt to gain a better position. ( which your pc does by moving to where they can still attack)
2. running from the bear so option 3 doesn't happen
3. Stand there like a confused commoner in d&d while the bear attempts to make your stomach into a party hat because
you
shot them!

you are the soul behind your character's actions the whole point of Role Play is to see things from your character's eyes. I'm not saying you need to role-play but you need to understand at the end of the day your character is reacting how you told them to
its a reflection of you!
